Queue length surveys are often a key measure existing capacity at a junction and its ability to accommodate future proposed changes. As well as being used to consider appropriate traffic signal timings, for example, queue length surveys can also be used to assess the likely impact of a proposed nearby development and likely increases in traffic flows at a junction.
